One year ago, more than 2,200 industry leaders and clinical operations executives gathered together at the Summit for Clinical Ops Executives (SCOPE) in Orlando, Florida. No one could have ever imagined that it would be one of the last in-person conferences to be held before the global pandemic shut down the world.
Fast-forward to today and, like all conferences, SCOPE ’21 was completely virtual. And you bet Praxis was there, continuing our involvement with the conference for an 11th year. We were honored to once again be a corporate sponsor of SCOPE.
Operation Warp Speed: Recruitment and Retention, Launching a Recruitment Strategy for a Phase III COVID-19 Vaccine Trial. Tricia Barrett, Praxis’ senior vice president and managing director, co-presented with Diane Montross, senior director of patient recruitment and retention at Moderna. Tricia and Diane discussed what it took to launch the recruitment and retention campaign for Moderna’s COVE Study – a phase 3 COVID-19 vaccine trial. More about our collaboration with Moderna can be found in this Outsourcing-Pharma article.
Patient enrollment breakout discussions. Robert Loll, Praxis’ senior vice president of business development and strategic planning, co-facilitated two breakout discussions: “Strategies for Patient-Centric Trial Design and Digital Patient Engagement,” and “Decentralized and Hybrid Trials: COVID-19 as an Accelerator.” Bob’s experience lends itself to this role in this setting. He led the conversations through questions and comments, resulting in engaging dialog with multiple people.
Here’s hoping that we’ll be back in person at SCOPE ’22 (and all conferences, for that matter)! We look forward to attending live presentations and engaging once again in face-to-face conversations, making new contacts and seeing old friends.
