Praxis Launches Patient Recruitment Campaign for Pfizer
Proposed Drug Would Treat Hypertension and Cholesterol with One Pill

Brentwood, TN — May 7, 2004 — Praxis, a company specializing in centralized patient recruitment for clinical research studies, is providing services to Pfizer for a national medical research study. The study, which is currently underway and focuses on the African American population, explores a dual cardio medication that would treat hypertension and cholesterol with one pill.

Praxis is providing a variety of patient recruitment and retention services for the clinical trial, including website development, advertising, direct marketing, public relations, centralized inquiry fulfillment, and recruitment and retention program management. The comprehensive program includes creating practitioner communications packages and patient education materials.

"This research is very important because it addresses a major health issue, heart disease, which is the number one cause of death in the United States," said David Fox, president and CEO of Praxis. "In addition, the study focuses on the African American population, a segment where hypertension is widely undiagnosed."

The six-month study is taking place in 100 sites across the United States.
