Praxis’ Patient Recruitment Campaign Saves 300 Days
off Enrollment for Women’s Health Study
Brentwood, Tenn. -- January 8, 2008--Praxis, a company specializing in centralized patient recruitment for clinical trials, recently provided patient recruitment services to a major pharmaceutical company for a study to test an investigational medication for a sensitive women’s health issue. The recruitment program saved a full 10 months off the enrollment period. Praxis’ centralized recruitment program directly delivered 44% of all patients randomized.
The 200-site study was centrally managed and patient recruitment results were available in real-time, 24/7 using PraxisDirect®, Praxis’ online study management technology. Analyzing the results as they occurred allowed Praxis to effectively allocate media dollars in the areas delivering the best results. “We were able to identify early on which sites were high performers and then re-allocate advertising dollars to these site areas where we were getting the highest randomization rates from our pre-qualified candidates,” said David Fox, President and CEO of Praxis. High performing, highly motivated sites randomized patients at a rate 50% greater than those less motivated sites. “By investing our advertising recruitment resources in the high performing site markets, we were able to maximize our sponsor’s results,” said Fox.
Through Praxis’ upfront protocol feasibility analysis and target audience research, a customized marketing strategy and branded campaign was developed to successfully capture the attention and motivate women to respond. Praxis combination of targeted recruitment tactics delivered results exponentially greater than what sites can typically do on their own - in fact, Praxis’ strategy resulted in radio advertising alone delivering candidates at a 60% greater response rate, when compared to single tactic programs.
